What is Youmi?

Youmi is a new approach to Mental Health intervention. We support the supporters: friends, family members, and informal carers who are helping someone struggling with their mental health. Because whilst we wait to access services that can help, we (and the people around us) suffer. Our mission is to help you feel more confident, informed, and supported in the way you show up for others

What is the Pilot actually testing?

We’re testing Relay – our Supporter GPT. In plain English, that means an AI you can chat with, built uniquely for you. During onboarding, we use what you share to shape your own version of Relay – so it understands how you show up for others and can offer guidance that actually fits your style. It’s still early in development, so expect a few rough edges, but its goal is simple: to help you feel more confident knowing what to do and what to say when someone you care about is struggling.

How can I be a part of the Pilot?

It’s really simple. Pop in your details above, and you’ll go straight into the onboarding flow. In about ten minutes, we’ll learn what we need to build your personalised Relay. Find somewhere quiet if you can – this is your chance to speak freely, reflect honestly, and help shape something that could change how support works for everyone.
There are only 250 spaces available, so make sure you sign up before we close it.

What should I do if Relay says something that feels harmful or unsafe?

If you ever feel that Relay has said something harmful, unsafe, or inappropriate, please stop using it immediately and reach out for real-world support. Relay is designed to offer practical, behavioural guidance – not crisis care or emergency help.

If you or someone you know is in immediate danger, contact emergency services (999 in the UK) or go straight to your nearest A&E department. If you need someone to talk to right now, you can call Samaritans on 116 123 for free, 24/7.

If Relay ever gives advice or guidance that feels wrong, misleading, or potentially harmful – or even if it just doesn’t sit right with you – please let us know so we can investigate and fix it.

Email us directly at redflag@youmisupport.com with as much detail as possible, including a short description or screenshot if you can. Every report helps us make Relay safer and more reliable for everyone using it.

Important: Relay should never replace professional care, crisis services, or clinical guidance. Always trust your instincts and seek immediate help if you’re worried about your own or someone else’s safety.

How do I add my Relay model to my Home Screen?

(iPhone - using Chrome)

What you’ll need

  • Your unique Relay URL from us – you get this on email from us after you complete onboarding
  • Chrome on your iPhone, iOS 15 or newer

Step-by-step guide:

  1. Open the link we sent you in Chrome on your iPhone.
  2. Tap the Share icon at the top right.
  3. Scroll down to "Add to home screen". It might be hidden behind the 3-dots!
  4. Name it something useful, like “Relay”.
  5. Tap Add. You’ll now see a Relay icon on your Home Screen
  6. Done. Tap the icon any time to jump straight into your model.

If you can’t see “Add to Home Screen”

  • Scroll all the way down and tap Edit Actions
  • Find Add to Home Screen, tap +, then Done
  • Try step 3 again

Is Youmi a replacement for professional help?

No. Youmi is not a replacement for therapy or clinical support, for either the supporter or the person they’re supporting. It’s designed as a companion tool to help you feel more capable and informed in your role, while encouraging professional help when needed.
