Why you can trust Youmi
Safeguarding and privacy
Private from your school, and safeguarding comes first.
Private from your school: Your school does not read your conversations, and is not told who has signed up.
Safeguarding comes first: We only tell your school if there is a safeguarding concern.
Your conversations: We don’t use them to train any AI model, and nor does our AI provider. We improve the Coach using anonymised data only.
How long we keep them: We delete conversation content 12 months after your last activity. A small number of records are kept longer, such as the record of a safeguarding disclosure.
Not therapy: The Coach is not therapy. It is new and still improving.
Youmi is provided by Youmi Support Ltd, not by your school. Read our privacy policy, including how we use AI.
Clinical expertise
Who leads it: Dr Georgie Gnan, our co-founder, leads our clinical and safeguarding team.
The right standards: We’re building Youmi to medical device standards, towards Class I registration with the MHRA and to meet NHS DTAC.
Our team and research partners
Co-founded by a doctoral researcher in mental health interventions and Visiting Research Fellow in the AI in Mental Health Lab at King’s College London, with a Clinical Lead on the team.
Our university research partners
Each runs its own research projects and takes its own consent. We supply no data to them.
